Wallenstam publ : Solar cell investment in Mölnlycke Fabriker – marketscreener.com

In Mölnlycke Fabriker, the area that is currently taking shape in genuine industrial environments just outside of Gothenburg, Wallenstam is building a garage with 1,500 solar cell modules in the façade. The solar cell modules will produce energy for the garage’s lighting, charging stations for electric cars, and in addition, they will also generate renewable energy for the electrical grid. For the future tenants of the more than 600 apartments in the area, the garage will become the central car park.

“It feels very nice to build a beautiful garage, which adds an extra dynamic and, above all, a sustainable focus for Mölnlycke Fabriker as an area. The solar cell façade is an initiative, which is completely aligned with Wallenstam’s sustainability work,” says Marina Fritsche, Vice CEO of Wallenstam.

The preparations for the construction started during the month of May. The garage is expected to be finished by the summer of 2021 with integrated solar cells in the entire façade which will allow the sun’s renewable energy to be utilized in the best possible way.

Colors and shapes have been a central part of the area over time. The textile artist Viola GrĂ„sten who worked for Mölnlycke Fabriker from the middle of the 20[th] century, was internationally renowned for her colorful pattern collections. The solar cell façade will now continue this tradition by representing the area’s connection to creative patterns and colorful elements while also generating energy. The solar cell modules are developed by the Soltech Group and the semi-transparent solar cell modules, which will be used in the construction will enable the entry of light, airflow and will create a façade that changes in shades of blue, green, orange and terracotta red.

In genuine industrial environments close to Gothenburg, Mölnlycke Fabriker is being developed into an area with just over 600 new apartments, commercial activities and a new sports center. Wallenstam’s construction of 424 apartments is currently in progress in the RosengĂ„ngen, VĂ€ven and Kvarnen blocks. The first tenants in the area are expected to move into the RosengĂ„ngen block’s 123 rental apartments at year-end 2020.
