The Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) through its REC Foundation has issued tender for the engagement of PMA/ implementing agency for the procurement and installation of 1650 solar street lights in the rural and tribal areas of Nashik district of Maharashtra.
The last date for bid submission is November 2, 2020, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. As the project is envisaged under the REC Foundationâ€™s CSR initiative, there is no tender fee or earnest money deposit to be submitted under the tender.
The selected PMAâ€™s will be engaged in the procurement, installation and commissioning and comprehensive maintenance of the 1650 solar street lights on a turnkey basis. Also involving various services pertaining for REC Foundation CSR projects ranging from project planning, bidding, procurement, design, engineering, project execution, monitoring, MIS preparation, etc. to fulfil the project objectives and produce expected results as per the scope of work on a turnkey basis.
The duration of the project has been set as 18 months in the tender documents. However, the REC Foundation reserves the right to review the performance/ business requirements and engage another PMA/Implementing Agency for completion of the project as per the envisaged scope.
In May, the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) had issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible vendors and firms for the work of designing and commissioning of 19,000 solar street lights in the state under theÂ MNREÂ off-grid and decentralised solar PV applications scheme.
In April, the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) had issued a tender for the supply of 1.9 million orÂ 19 lakh LED street lightsÂ and other related works at Telangana Gram Panchayat and other various locations across India under the Street Light National Programme (SLNP). The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the design, manufacture, supply, and testing of the 19 lakh LED street lights along with seven years of warranty maintenance of the lights.
