Medfield Environment Action will be hosting another online webinar on Monday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. It will feature several Medfield decarbonizers who have drastically reduced their carbon footprint. They will share their experiences with installing solar panels, heat pumps or driving electric cars.
It is a follow-up to the October webinar, which was a presentation on “Net Zero Home” by David Green. Tune in to learn about the research that they did prior to purchasing, the process itself and the financial and environmental impacts. Attendees will also learn how to calculate their own carbon footprint so they can take steps towards reducing it.
Need a new car; purchase an electric vehicle. Need a new furnace/boiler; install heat pumps instead. Need to fix or replace your roof; put up solar panels at the same time. That is flexing your decarbonizing muscle.
The webinar is free and open to everyone. Registration is required in advance by visiting MEAMedfield.org and following the link to register.
MEA has also created a five-minute, online survey to collect residents’ thoughts/opinions on environmental issues impacting Medfield in order to provide guidance for future MEA education. The survey can be filled out online by visiting MEAMedfield.org and following the link. We encourage all to fill out the survey, and it can be done by multiple members of your household such as school children or older children returning from college. Those who provide their email for MEA’s mailing list will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to a Medfield business of their choice. The survey needs to be completed by Dec. 1.
