MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – The fight over utility fees on home solar panels may not be over in Alabama.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rejected a request from environmental groups to take enforcement action against the Alabama regulators that approved Alabama Power’s fees on home solar panels and other home power generation.
But the Southern Environmental Law Center says it will now pursue the issue in federal court.
Two members of the federal commission expressed concern that Alabama regulators could be violating federal law designed to encourage alternative energy sources.
