Job moves in solar, storage, cleantech, utilities, and energy transition finance.

Neha Palmer

EV charging infrastructure company TeraWatt Infrastructure named Neha Palmer as its CEO. As Google’s first hire focused on data center energy, Palmer built and led a team developing electric infrastructure and electricity procurement for its global fleet, covering dozens of sites over four continents. When she joined Google, it had eight data centers with under 3 TWh of annual electric consumption; by the time she left, it operated dozens of data centers on four continents with over 13 TWh of annual electric consumption. She was instrumental in making Google one of the largest corporate buyers of renewable energy in the world, and one of the first companies of its size to achieve 100% renewable energy for operations.

Community Energy added energy storage expert Judy McElroy to its Board of Directors. She is CEO of Fractal Energy Storage Consultants and brings over a decade of experience in the energy storage industry with a specialty in markets, policy, technology, and economics.

EV charging company FreeWire Technologies named Michael Beer as its CFO, and Jeff Risher as general counsel. Beer will be responsible for strategic financial planning and management, and Risher will be responsible for overseeing legal matters, IP strategy, and technology partnerships. Beer served as head of financial strategy and investor relations at Luminar Technologies. He earlier spent time at Citigroup in Hong Kong focusing on the Pan-Asia transportation logistics and infrastructure space. Risher previously served as deputy general counsel, chief IP counsel and chief litigation counsel at Tesla, and before that, held positions at Apple from 2006 to 2015, including director of patent strategy & licensing, director of litigation and director of patent litigation.

Lauren Choate

Lithium-ion battery recycler Li-Cycle Corp. named Carl DeLuca as general counsel and corporate secretary and Lauren Choate as VP, human resources. DeLuca will lead Li-Cycle’s legal and regulatory functions in support of the company’s global expansion plans. Choate will lead Li-Cycle’s human resources functions and will oversee talent management and acquisition to continue to attract top industry talent. DeLuca served as general counsel and corporate secretary for Detour Gold Corp. Choate led the human resources function for Kärcher North America and as the senior director, Learning & Organizational Development at IHS.

PosiGen, a provider of renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions for low-to-moderate income homeowners, named Josh Storrusten as VP of operations. Most recently, he served as operations leader of a renewable energy corporation that supplied solar, storage, and energy efficiency products to the residential and commercial market. He started out in the solar industry as an installer and worked his way up while going to school full time.
