Nicole Willis Appointed Interim CEO for Heartland Health Centers
Nicole Willis will serve as Heartland Health Centers’ interim CEO when Gwenn Rausch retires in July, the organization’s board has announced.
“It’s a privilege to work with our board, providers, and staff to continue offering safe, high-quality, and equitable care to all,” said Willis, currently Vice President of Operations. “I am particularly honored and humbled by the opportunity to support our mission ensuring access to care in such a challenging time.”
Willis, who has led daily operations for the organization since January 2018, has more than 20 years of health care expertise including organizational management with clinical and operations experience in both large academic and community-based healthcare organizations. Before joining Heartland Health Centers, Nicole served as a clinical operations manager at Northwestern Medicine.
Willis has been instrumental in standardizing health operations across the community health centers, increasing integration between clinical and operational teams. She has also led Heartland Health Centers’ planning, construction and build-out of HHC- Skokie and expansion of HHC-Wilson community clinics.
“Nicole’s dedication to the Heartland Health Centers staff and proven leadership will continue to provide high-quality health care on the North and Northwest sides and beyond,” Board Chair Phillip Dothard said. “We wish Gwenn the very best and look forward to the continued leadership of the team with Nicole at the helm.”
